A generation steeped in giving back.

Today’s workforce is looking for more than a job description. Generation Y grew up with a service ethic, and members are eager to continue this tradition in the workplace.

In a recent Parade magazine poll, 94% of respondents believed that it is “important to be personally involved in supporting a community cause we believe in.”  And “a family member’s or friend’s request … were catalysts for getting involved.”

The related article defines three types of modern altruists. Perhaps you recognize them among your ranks. Yeppies are Young Engaged Problem Solvers who use social media to connect with their peers to improve the world. Rapid Responders are focused on specific issues they’ve encountered. And the Mission-Minded are older Americans whose faith inspires activism.

A formal program makes the difference.
