Primera, an engineering firm in Chicago, shows its community leadership by renovating homes, which in turn rejuvenates communities.
“Our employees have worked for the last seven years on the Rebuilding Together * Metro Chicago (RT*MC) National Rebuilding Day,” said Lourdes Gonzalez, Senior Vice President at Primera. “Every year, they select a different Chicago neighborhood and south suburb in which to provide free home repair for elderly, disabled, or low-income individuals. Primera has led a team of volunteers to help accomplish the goals for each homeowner. RT*MC is part of a national nonprofit program that sponsors National Rebuilding Day across the country on the last Saturday in April.”
“For both the 2011 and 2012 National Rebuilding Day efforts, Primera, under the leadership of Jill Deichmann, provided a donation and volunteer teams to participate in our home repair efforts, helping to repair the homes of low-income homeowners in need,” said Wanda Ramirez, Executive Director of Rebuilding Together * Metro Chicago. “As part of their participation, the Primera employees volunteered their time, skills, and expertise to help provide repairs that would make these homes warmer, safer and drier.”
Volunteering to breathe new life into neighborhoods in need is the reason that TOP ’TEER is recognizing Primera as a leader in employee volunteering for 2012.
