Meet our friends at I Support Community

I Support Community is developing kids with character inside and out. They do this through their Inside Out Club, which has expanded to reach more than 1,400 students across schools in DuPage County. In addition, they host 20 weekend Inside Out Club events a year geared towards families with children ages 3-12 and launched an online version for family activities at home. Inside Out Club bridges social emotional learning and community engagement. It teaches character skills through lessons on the community, local non-profits, volunteer projects, and most importantly, fun. Some of the character traits include empathy, self-awareness and collaboration. Each one of the Inside Out Club lessons is infused with at least one character skill at its core. Their vision is individuals and families empowered through strength of character and volunteerism to live fuller lives for generations to come.

Volunteer Opportunities with I Support Community

Afterschool Inside Out Club: Work with students once a month in the classroom! Each month, the students learn about a different charity and do mini-service programs. All program materials (supplies, agendas, etc.) are provided and volunteers will receive training.

In-Kind Skill Donation: Are you skilled in marketing, blogging and/or WordPress and would like to donate your talents? There are opportunities available to assist I Support Community in increasing volunteerism and giving back.

Fundraising/Event Planning: Each year I Support Community hosts 2-3 fundraisers including the Winter Wine Event and I Support Community 5K. There is a need for committee chairs and members willing to help with logistics, marketing, sponsorships, etc.

Interested in any of these? Contact Executive Director, Marion Ruthig ( or via phone 630-352-9089.
